  3. SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST PERIOD:

There are two Contest Periods each year. The first Contest Period begins each year on December 25th at 12:00 AM eastern time ("ET") and ends on June 25th at 11:59 PM ET. The second Contest Period begins on June 26th at 12:00 AM ET and ends on December 25th at 11:59 PM ET. The first Scholarship drawing will take place and a finalist will be selected on or about June 25th of each year. The second Scholarship drawing will take place and a finalist will be selected on or about the 25th day of December of each year.

  4. SEPARATE CONTEST PERIODS:

EACH CONTEST PERIOD IS SEPARATE AND AN ENTRY DURING ONE CONTEST PERIOD IS ONLY VALID FOR ONE SCHOLARSHIP DRAWING. ONLY ONE REGISTRATION PER PERSON WILL BE ACCEPTED DURING EACH CONTEST PERIOD. INDIVIDUALS WHO REGISTERED DURING ONE CONTEST PERIOD AND DID NOT WIN MAY CONTINUE TO REGISTER TO WIN THE SCHOLARSHIP IN SUBSEQUENT CONTEST PERIODS. This means that individuals registering for the Scholarship awarded on June 25, 2005 will need to register again in order to enter to win the subsequent Scholarship awarded on December 25, 2005.

  5. HOW TO ENTER:

There is one way to enter the Contest. During the Contest Period, go to www.FreeScholarshipGuide.com and follow the links and instructions to register for free. By registering for the Scholarship you will also be able to download the informative Directory of Scholarship Websites at no charge, which contains links and information on thousands of websites that provide scholarships, or scholarship information. Each person may enter the Sweepstakes only one time only during the Sweepstakes Period. However, by using the Tell-A-Friend functionality registrants may earn one additional entry for each friend they tell about our website. Non-Winning entries from one Sweepstakes Period will not be valid or rolled over into the subsequent Sweepstakes Period(s).

  6. FOR ALL ENTRIES:

All entries must be received during the Sweepstakes Period. Any use of automatic, programmed or similar entry methods or agents (including but not limited to sweepstakes or sweepstakes entry services) will void all entries by that entrant. Proof of entry submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. Entries will be acknowledged with a confirmation email, which must be saved and submitted by the potential winners upon notification of selection. All entrants must submit a valid email and postal address. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, technically corrupted or misdirected entries, all of which will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed the entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned to the email address by the organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the respective domain.

  7. DRAWING and NOTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL WINNERS:

Potential winners will be selected at random from among all eligible entries received. Drawings will be held Semi-Annually. Sponsor, whose decisions as to the administration of the Contest and the selection of the potential winners are final, will conduct the drawing. The potential winners will be notified by US postal mail within five (5) days of the drawing. In order to claim his/her scholarship, the potential winners must, except where prohibited, return to Sponsor, within ten (10) days of being notified, (1) a signed affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release and (2) a copy of the confirmation email received after entry in the winning Contest. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days after the first attempt to contact him/her or if he/she fails to return the signed affidavit and release and the confirmation email within the required time period, an alternate entrant will be selected in his/her place at random from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. If a winner has not reached the age of majority in his/her home state, then the prize will be awarded in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian and such parent or legal guardian will be required to execute and return the required documentation. Potential winners must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements.
